Lost Property

It can be very frustrating when expensive items disappear at school.
All named property should eventually make its way back to the owner -hopefully before your child has grown out of it.
Members of the BCA are hoping to open the lost property cupboard on a regular basis - we need more volunteers in order to do this - if you feel you can help, please contact the BCA through email, our contact form or via the school office.

Ways to help your child keep track of their belongings

  • Don't let pupils take valuable items into school
  • Make sure that everything is labelled - there are lots of ways of marking your child's clothes and property
Clothes- indelible laundry or marker pens and sew on or iron on labels
Shoes - marker pens or special adhesive labels to stick inside shoes (also helps to make sure they pick up the right pair after PE)
Pens, rulers, calculators etc. marker pens or adhesive labels

These pictures show just a small sample of the huge amount of unclaimed and unlabelled lost property sitting in the cupboard at Bulmershe school:

There are lots of companies that produce customized labels for clothing and possessions. Some suggestions (not endorsed by Bulmershe Community Association) are:
Namemark
Woven Labels
Cash's Name tapes (buy online through John Lewis via our Webshop)
Easy2Name
