History

The Bulmershe School has had a parents' association for a very long time. The school has had an Association in some form since at least 1981. For twenty four years, one couple whose children once attended the school ran weekly bingo sessions at the school. Over this time they raised nearly £50,000 for the school and over 120 people from the local community used to attend the weekly session. All of this money went directly to benefit the students. The organisers of the Bingo used to ask the school departments to submit bids for money and were particularly keen that resources should be made available for students who needed extra support with learning.

Other events that have been run in the past include trips to London Theatres, Long weekends away, day trips to France, Autumn Fayres, Car boot sales, Treasure hunts, Barn dances, Discos, Second hand uniform sales and Quiz evenings.

Notable things that have been funded by the Parents' Association in the past include:
Computers Dictionaries Camping Equipment
computers dictionaries camping equipment
Computer Software Photographic Equipment Sports Equipment

In the past, the School Association has also produced a twice-yearly newsletter with the aim of keeping parents informed and alerting them to all the activities run by the association.

In addition to adding information to the regular school newsletter, we are hoping to involve more parents and the wider community by adding information to this website and by sending out an email newsletter.

For recent newsletters from the BCA, visit the Newsletter page.
